Profhilo BAP Technique —
Five Points, Then Judgement

A cross-linked filler stays where it is put. Profhilo does the opposite: its heat-bonded hyaluronic acid disperses through the plane it is placed in. It cannot be shaped, so the result depends on where each deposit starts.

The Bio Aesthetic Points were chosen because the risk of meeting a significant vessel or nerve there is comparatively low and the gel spreads widely from them.

• Zygomatic protrusion: over the most prominent part of the cheekbone.
• Nasal base: beside the base of the nose.
• Tragus: just in front of the small flap of the ear.
• Chin: on the chin, to the side of the midline.
• Mandibular angle: at the angle of the jaw.

Bruising is seen a little more often at the tragus and mandibular angle points than at the others.

1. Dr SY examines the skin at rest, in movement and when pinched, and decides which points to use and where to add.
2. Photographs, with consent, are for your medical record only; numbing cream goes on and the points are marked.
3. A fine needle places a small deposit at each point; a raised wheal forms as the gel sits.
4. The points are checked and you leave with written aftercare and the date of your second session.

Bruising, swelling and tenderness are common; a palpable nodule is occasional; infection and delayed inflammation are uncommon. A vascular event is rare but possible even at low-risk points, and hyaluronidase is kept at the clinic.

Rising pain or skin turning white, dusky or mottled needs the clinic at once; spreading redness, the same day; any change in vision is an emergency. See vascular occlusion warning signs.
