Treatment Singapore

Dr. Sin Yong's comprehensive acne scar treatment protocols — 4D Scar Reconstruction and Tetra Pro Scar³. Ice-pick, boxcar, rolling and atrophic scars treated at every depth simultaneously. Atelier Aesthetics, Singapore.

What is it?

Acne scars treated at every dimension — not just the surface.

Acne scars are one of the most challenging skin concerns to treat effectively because they exist at multiple tissue depths simultaneously — textural irregularity at the surface, structural damage in the dermis, pigmentary changes in the basement membrane, and tethering of fibrous tissue beneath. Treating only one of these dimensions leaves the others unchanged.

Dr. Sin Yong's scar treatment protocols address all dimensions at once. He offers two primary protocols — each selected based on the patient's specific scar types, skin condition and treatment goals.

Protocol 1 — 4D Scar Reconstruction

Dr. Sin Yong's proprietary multi-dimensional scar protocol — developed to address the four key dimensions of acne scarring: Depth, Definition, Discolouration and Dermis quality. This bespoke approach combines multiple treatment modalities in one session, selected and sequenced specifically for each patient's scar pattern.

  • Ice-pick, boxcar, rolling and mixed-type acne scars
  • Atrophic (depressed) scars of all severities
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Uneven skin texture from previous acne
  • Enlarged pores and skin quality compromise

Protocol 2 — Tetra Pro Scar³

The Tetra Pro Scar³ is a multi-wavelength laser scar treatment that uses three complementary laser energies to address acne scars, surgical scars and skin texture from multiple angles simultaneously. It is particularly effective for patients with significant textural scarring across the face and neck, and is one of the most powerful scar laser protocols available in Singapore.

Ice pick scars are too narrow and too deep for resurfacing to reach the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

This depends significantly on your scar types, severity and individual skin response. Dr. Sin Yong will assess your scars at consultation and provide a realistic estimate of sessions required and expected improvement. Results have interindividual variation.

Downtime varies by protocol. The Tetra Pro Scar³ and 4D Scar Reconstruction typically involve 3–7 days of redness and skin peeling. TCA Cross may cause temporary scabbing at treatment sites. Dr. Sin Yong will advise on specific aftercare at your consultation.

Yes. Acne scars can be treated regardless of when they formed. However, older, more established scars may require more sessions or a combination approach. A consultation with Dr. Sin Yong will determine the most appropriate protocol for your scar history.

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied before all laser and microneedling procedures. TCA Cross involves brief stinging at the point of application. Most patients find the treatments well-tolerated with appropriate anaesthesia.

Active acne should ideally be controlled before undergoing scar treatment. Dr. Sin Yong will assess whether active acne is present at consultation and advise accordingly — treating acne-prone skin requires specific precautions.
