Skin A–Z —
Ingredients, Explained Plainly

The Skin A–Z explains the active ingredients that come up most often at Atelier: what each one does, what the evidence supports, what it cannot do and who should take care. Entries name ingredients, never products, and nothing here is sold.

How To Use It

Ingredient Second, Diagnosis First

An ingredient only helps when it matches the problem. A lightener that works on surface pigment does nothing for pigment deep in the dermis, and an acne active can irritate skin that is really reacting to something else. Read an entry alongside the condition it treats, listed on every condition, A–Z.

Some entries cover prescription medicines, such as hydroquinone and tretinoin. These are explained, not dosed: whether one suits you is decided at a consultation. Treatment terms, from HIFU to skin boosters, are in the treatment glossary. New entries are added as they are written.
